Do the Work, You Get the Money.
How the post-auditing process works.
For Atlas Traffic
clients, the post-audit process is a snap. They simply send us their
freight bills and reap the rewards. All our procedures are geared
to reducing client paperwork and accounting time. And our advanced,
proprietary computer technology enables truly comprehensive audits
to be accomplished in an absolute minimum of time. And because Atlas
Traffic overcharge claims are always substantiated by citations
of the relevant, pertinent information carriers need, Atlas has
established a reputation for honesty and integrity in the industry
that pays off for our clients. We make it easier for carriers to
respond quickly. And that means better and faster collections for
our clients.
Atlas Traffic’s
work begins when we receive a batch of bills. Our computers assign
a control number to each batch that’s used to track every
document’s progress through the post auditing process. Any
client can locate any document at any time using this number.
Our audit process
involves a sequence of steps that enables us to maximize the refund
opportunities for each client. Our system is sophisticated enough
to allow any degree of flexibility; the criteria for sorting and
processing each batch of bills is customized according to the client's
individual needs. Even as we handle heavy volumes of freight bills,
there is no rubber stamp, conveyor-belt method in the Atlas Traffic
system.
The audit itself
is the heart of the process. Here, the melding of our auditors’
expertise and the speed, efficiency and power of our computer systems
enables Atlas to file more than 3,000 claims a month. Only the U.S.
Government’s General Services Administration files more.
By examining
every line of every bill, our auditors find discrepancies between
the rate charged and the proper rate. That difference is the basis
of the claim. The auditor enters the claim in the computer which
produces the claim document ready for mailing to the carrier.
The computer-generated
claim form includes everything the carrier needs to process the
claim including a calculation of the overpayment and the tariff
or contract authority supporting the claim.
The computer
also produces a critical file record of the claim that is a major
advantage of the Atlas Traffic system. The record enables our computers
to automatically track a claim continually until its final disposition.
At pre-established
intervals, the computer reviews all open claims and triggers claim
tracers designed to prompt carriers to respond to Atlas claims.
